Zoo York is the American brand behind Zoo York skateboards, decks, and apparel. The company was established in 1993 by Rodney Smith, Eli Gessner, and Adam Schatz. Looking at the graphics on the Zoo York decks you can clearly see that the brand is inspired by the underground graffiti-, hip hop-, and skateboarding scene of New York.

The name Zoo York comes from the subculture caring the same name that sprang up in New York in the 1970s. The term "Zoo York" represents the group of young artists, graffiti talents and skater who were hanging around the underground tunnels under the Central Park Zoo.
